That's a good point. But as I read your post, I wondered why he would have appointed those annointed ones at that time? The things that they taught and believed at that time are now considered apostacy. They were involved in many things that are now condemned for their Pagan background. I have a picture of Bethel celebrating Chiristmas on Christmas day in 1926. The inconsistencies of this organization never cease to amaze me.
Also, how did Jesus let them know that he had chosen them? Did he send out a flyer? Did he speak to them during one of their meetings? Did he only tell Rutherford? Why are they still pointing to these early apostates as having any relevance in today's organization. They can only be called apostates because they didn't believe like the witnesses do now. Does this make Jesus an apostate? He chose them, so he must have made a mistake. If he didn't make a mistake then the dubs now are apostates. If they're not apostates then Jesus changed his mind and decided that he wanted them to worship him differently. If the light just got brighter, then God changed his mind because he failed to make sure Jesus knew what was right way back then. But if God failed to tell Jesus what was up, then God is not infallible. Holy Shite, Batman! We have just proven that the current organization of Dubs is smarter than God! Maybe we're all screwed up and they are OK.

i have looked around a little and find the site very interesting and encouraging so far.
it is heartwarming to meet other people with questions or experiences who can relate them without needing to hide behind blatant negativity or automatic judgemental attitudes.

Believing Everything Someone Tells You
by minimus inare you the type of person that believes everything a person says?.
typically, my radar goes up, especially if a person either brags about all his or her accomplishments or tells you a sob story about how awful their life is.. i was reading here today about how some posters have been upset with others for either feeling someone is fraudulent or is uncaring or caring too much.. the funny thing is that most of us never really know who or what a person/poster is all about.
they could be perfectly upfront and tell you everything in a most truthful way or they could be conning you.

Ironically, I have been thoroughly vilified for this common sense approach by some of our most 'compassionate' posters in the ugliest terms - fortunately removed.
Bizzy Bee, I do not mean to stick my nose in this unnecessary, ongoing battle, but as I see what is going on here, I can't help but wonder what would have happened if the very 1st negative poster would have made those statements without the emotionally negative attacks. Would the obvious good advice to all have been noticed if it had not been wrapped up in attacking any and all who try and help? I realize that this is an emotionally charged issue on both sides, but as I said earlier, if we use some PERSPECTIVE on this board, we won't get so emotionally involved in these issues thus missing the larger and more important picture: This guy needs some help, and kind words with advice to get help won't do any harm.

WELL SAID, MIN. Perspective is often times what we lose sight of while on this board. If we all were to use more of it, it would definitely decrease the amount of emotional outbursts toward each other and instead help unify us against what the board was originally intended to fight. Cult mind control and the effects of a lifetime spent under their spell.
I for one am most grateful for the help I have received here and do not like to see us fighting with each other. It seems to me that PM's could be used a lot more to air differences of opinion instead of trying to make others look bad in front of everyone else. We all have our opinions, we don't all need to share them.

Is an Organization required?

i said how can put full faith and trust into jehovah's organization, one which is directed by holy spirit, even though its past is littered with issues and errors (new light)?
i mentioned the redefining of generation, 1975 issue, and the un involvement.

Big question your really need to ask them next time you talk to them. "How can an organization be guided by Holy Spirit and no be Inspired?" The whole point in saying that anything is guided by holy spirit is to prove that the words said are inspired. You cannot have it both ways and claim that imperfect men run the Org. As soon as they say that it is run by imperfect men, than they have just confirmed that they are not guided by holy spirit. Holy Spirit "guidance" cannot be wrong because it is, according to the Watchtower, "God's active force". How can something from a source, from which it is impossible to be wrong, make a mistake? The very comment that they made is a perfect example of Cognitive Dissonance. They hold the belief that the Org is Guided by Spirit while also believing that the Org can make mistakes because it is run by imperfect men.

Assembly Resolutions
by DT ineven when i was a believing jw, i began to really dislike those fake assembly resolutions.
my biggest complaint was that we weren't given any time to think about them before we were called on to agree.
i thought they were pretty meaningless and stopped responding to them.

There's nothing more entertaining at an assembly than a "10 Point Resolution" that means absolutely nothing. Who, exactly, is impacted by these things? As soon as the dubs walk out of the building they are forgotten till assembly review night. Then it's all over. Big deal. Much ado about nothing. Basically a way to make dubs feel special at the convention.

When the Giants went up 28-16, I told my son that you can't hold Brady down for the wole game. Although I wanted the Giants to win, I knew if they didn't score every time they had the ball in the 2nd half, they would not win. The Pats are just too good. I don't know if they will win it all though. Like you said XJW, the pressure is really on now. Playoff football is different. But the Pats seem to be able to turn it up at will when the game is on the line. Congrats to all the Pats fans out there. Well done.
